While federal tax reform tends to dominate headlines, state and local tax (SALT) consequences often create the biggest challenges in implementation. This 2-hour webinar explores how the One Big Beautiful Bill interacts with state tax systems—both directly and indirectly—and what practitioners need to watch for in the months ahead.

From conformity issues to apportionment changes, this session will help you understand how states are reacting (or not reacting) to the federal overhaul and what that means for multistate taxpayers, businesses, and pass-through entities.

Learning Objectives:

  • By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to:
  • Identify which provisions of the One Big Beautiful Bill are likely to affect state income tax systems.
  • Explain the concept of state conformity (static vs. rolling) and its impact on implementation.
  • Discuss potential ripple effects on apportionment, nexus, and business tax credits.
  • Evaluate SALT cap implications and workarounds in light of federal changes.
  • Prepare for practical challenges in state-level compliance and reporting.

Key Topics Covered:

  • Overview of federal changes relevant to state tax
  • State conformity models and their response to the bill
  • SALT deduction limitations and workaround strategies
  • Corporate and pass-through entity considerations
  • State legislative and regulatory outlook

Who Should Attend?
